Hannah's New Bike

Hannah's thrilled to pieces with her new bike. Incidentally, "bike" is her clearest "English" word :)! One of her friends outgrew this tricycle and handed it on to Hannah. Thanks, Kaylin! Hannah isn't quite sure how to make the pedals go, but she sure can make the bike go!

Rookie Popsicle-er and other Milestones!

Welcome to our blog! This is yet another attempt to keep our family updated on what's happening in our lives. Here's the first... have fun!

Hannah's recently learned the joy of a popsicle! After a couple of tries just sharing Momma's, now she's graduated to doing it on her own. My, ain't she a big girl! And soooo proud of herself!

This summer has been one of surprises as we've watched our "little baby big girl" change before our eyes. One minute she was still my baby, the next blossoming into a true toddler! Suddenly we can understand much more of what she is saying and she is imitating everything! One of my favorites is her decision that it is HER job to feed General each evening. She goes and gets his food (with help), then puts it in the kitchen and proceeds to tell him to "git", "gay", "mum-mon" (ie. sit, stay, come on), then shows him where his food is. She does all this with the hand signals that we use with General. He's still not sure if he's supposed to listen to this little person with the commanding voice but unknown words!

Hannah has also decided that because Momma wears "pretties" in her hair, she also should get to wear "pri-yees". Each morning, she looks me very seriously in the eye, pats herself on the head and asks me, "pri-yees?" So I ask if she wants barrettes or pony tails (in her words - "bah-yah" or "po-yah"). When finished, she runs to tell Daddy about her "pri-yees", often proceeding to pull them out in her excitement to show him. She does the same when we arrive at daycare, wanting to show her teachers the pretties in her hair (or her favorite shirt, the butterflies on her socks, pretty much anything she can talk about!). Here' a picture of my sweet big girl and her "pri-yees."
