We've Upgraded to my Dream Car!

Please join us in welcoming our newest "family member"!!!!

"Hello! Thanks for the warm welcome! My name is Big Ol' Black Van (at least until they think of something better). I am pleased to now be a member of the Colburn family!"

And, yes! It actually fits in the garage! Tight squeeze, though! The Neon has been relegated to the driveway to face the elements until the time it finds a new home!

Truly, though... the story of God's provision with this van makes the whole story worthwhile!

We'd begun looking for the van for us... really wanted a Kia, but couldn't find any in our price range. Finally told God that if he wanted us to have something different, we would be okay with that. (REALLY didn't want a Caravan or a Town & Country)

That week, one of Nathan's co-workers mentioned that he was looking to buy a Neon (without knowing we had one). "Hmmm" says Nathan, "we happen to have one to sell!"

Enough money for the down payment was provided to us suddenly.

Then Hannah and I happened to be out running around, saw that the Hertz car sales place was having a sale, so I thought, "well, I'll just run by and look." They had several vans, none in our price range (under 15,000). In visiting with a salesman, he mentioned that this Town & Country, while listed at 23,9, was currently on an internet special for 16,6! Well, close, but not quite what we had in mind, even though a great deal. He goes to check how long the special was on for while I head for the car to go home. Comes back and says his manager thinks he can get it under 15!!!

Long story short, after taking it on a test drive to show Nathan, we come back and buy a 2008 Town & Country that was listed at 23,9 for a mere 14,9!!! A $9,000 discount!!!

Father, thank you for providing everything that we need. Even when we least expect it!

Hannah and Daddy!

Our sweet girl many times can't decide whether she is a Momma's girl or a Daddy's girl. One thing is for sure, Daddy seems to get many more hugs and kisses than Momma! Momma gets most of the conversation (I guess a background in special education makes me more prone to understanding a toddler's speech) and all the fussing! Or so it seems!

Any way! Here are some sweet pictures of Hannah and her Daddy!

Play-doh!

Hannah loves to play with play-doh! She loves trying all the different things we have to use with it - many times expecting Momma or Daddy to do it for her!

I'm raising beggars!

I'm not sure when Hannah learned to beg, but I'm sure she learned it from General! Don't worry, he didn't get any ice cream (much to his dismay)!
